How private boat hire in Portimão works
Every boat comes with a licensed skipper, fuel and insurance, and leaves from Portimão Marina at Praia da Rocha.
Do I need a boat licence?
No. Every boat is hired with a professional skipper, so you can relax, swim and enjoy the coast.
Which boat suits my group?
Up to 8 guests: the Ribera 980 motor boat. Up to 10: the Oceanis 41.1, DB/43 or Pershing 64. Up to 12: the Swift Trawler 48 or Isla 40 catamaran. Up to 14: the Oceanis 55. Up to 18: the Fountaine Pajot 44.
How long should I book?
Three hours is enough for the caves and a swim stop. A full day of 6 to 7 hours lets you reach Benagil and Marinha, or head west to Alvor and the Ponta da Piedade.
What does it cost?

How much does it cost to hire a private boat in Portimão?

Are drinks included?
On most boats, yes: sparkling wine, wine, beer, soft drinks and water, plus snacks or a welcome drink. Each boat lists what’s included.
Where do the boats leave from?
Every boat on this site leaves from Portimão Marina. We send you the exact meeting point when your booking is confirmed. Please arrive 15 to 30 minutes before departure.
How does the 25% deposit work?
Choose your boat, date and time and send us the booking by WhatsApp or email. We confirm availability and send you a secure link to pay the deposit. You pay the rest on the day.
What is the cancellation policy?
It depends on the boat and is confirmed before you pay. If the skipper cancels because of the weather or sea conditions, you can move your date or get your deposit back.
Do prices include VAT?
Yes. All prices shown include Portuguese VAT and are per boat, not per person. They are confirmed when you book.
